Sushant Singh Rajput said that the skipper of Indian cricket team Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is recognised for his trademark ‘helicopter shot’, is equally good with his acting skills.
Sushant plays the role of Dhoni in the upcoming biopic, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.

The Kai Po Che! star says he came to know about Dhoni’s acting skills when they were shooting together for an ad film for this upcoming biopic movie.

“He (Dhoni) is a very good actor. If you watch one of the videos we did, where he is asking me what’s there in the film, the scripted lines were just five-six. I came up with some lines, just like that and he reacted on them. “Then I reacted, then he did. So he is a very good actor” Sushant said in an interview.

After watching Dhoni’s acting skills Sushant says that Bollywood actors will have to look for alternate career in case Dhoni decides to take up acting.
“Well if he decides to be an actor then we need to think of Plan B, because he is very good at whatever he decides (to do),” Sushant said.

Signing of the contract for the movie was the happiest moment for Sushant but he had to work hard in order to successfully play Dhoni’s role in the movie.

“Normally when we do fictional characters, we don’t have a reference point. But when you’re playing Dhoni, you have a reference point. Body language, mannerism or may be playing style,” Sushant said.

“I had to take care of that too. Because very quickly I realised that I could be very good in the film as an actor, but I could still not be convincing if I don’t remind you of him. Those were the things which we took care of, so that there is no jerk,” he said.
Sushant said that working with Dhoni has not only made him a “better human being” but has also given some memorable moments which he will cherish for his whole life.

“I am a big fan, so getting a chance, talking to him, he is answering my questions…in between, in breaks I used to ask him how to hold a bat. MS Dhoni, telling you, it’s surreal. There are many things that’ll stay with me for a while.”

The film is scheduled for release on 30th September and the actor is confident that its  a “well made movie” and added that the film does not over-dramatise things. “In the film, we don’t glorify anything, or over-dramatise anything. We don’t want to hide anything,” he said.
