It’s been a well-known truth now that Indian test skipper, Virat Kohli is going through the purple patch of his cricketing career. He had already smashed  640 runs in the ongoing five-Test series against England which includes, two -half-centuries, one century and a breathtaking 235 in the last innings he had played in the fourth test at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

Currently, Virat is the fittest cricketer in the world and he’s setting new benchmarks when it comes to physical strength and endurance. He had a phenomenal season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year and after the completion of the season, he expressed the secret to his outstanding fitness — which includes as much as 100 squats a day to enhance his lower body that contributed to his fantastic running between the wickets.4

While talking in ESPNCricinfo’s Match Day, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly disclosed another interesting story related to Kohli which describes his dedication towards his fitness as well as to cricket. One of Ganguly’s friends saw Kohli in the gymnasium with a trainer straight after batting for nearly six hours and batting past the 150-run mark.

When Ganguly’s friend asked Kohli for the reason for bein in the gym after the tiring heading innings, the latter replied, “I wanted to work out at that moment because he was tired, and that was the only way I can get double and triple hundreds in Test matches.”
