The maverick filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is back posting Haider with Rangoon. The Filmmaker was recently quoted saying that new outing isn’t a biopic but a true work of fiction.
National Award winning director Bhardwaj recent movie takes back to the era of 1940’s which also depicts the time India was fighting for its independence and also has a lot of significant references too.
The movie is a love triangle which is set during the background of second world war. The director was quoted saying that “We have tried to create the ethos of the era but it’s a work of fiction,”.
The movie consists of very ensemble star cast which includes Kangana Ranaut who essays the role of seductress Julia and Saif Ali Khan who essaying the role of a filmmaker who is in love with her. While Shahid Kapoor can be seen the role of a soldier named Nawab Malik who falls in love with Julia while protecting her during the train journey.
Vishal Bhardwaj was also quoted saying that, “It certainly doesn’t follow the life of any of the various actors of that era be it that of Fearless Nadia, Miss Zebunissa, Miss Padma or Ramola. Rangoon is a period drama that has a love triangle in its center, its not at all a biopic.”
Upcoming project Rangoon of Vishal Bhardwaj will release on February 24.
