Swara Bhaskar is prepping up for her next release Anarkali of Aarah, from which she has high hopes. In the film, Swara essays the role of an erotic singer who stands up against the powerful ones. During the promotions of the film, Swara explained the difference between eroticism and porn. She said eroticism was a way to depict sex and sexuality, and something that was not equal to porn.

The actress told Indianexpress.com, it is in absence of creativity that sexual representation became porn. The character that Swara plays in the film sings songs that are filled with double entendre. Speaking about her character, Swara cleared that she isn’t playing a sex worker in the film. She said an erotic singer doesn’t have sex for money but it is her songs that get her a living. She added people should understand the difference.

Talking about the different setting of the film, Swara said Aarah was last explored in Teesri Kasam. But she told her character is no damsel in distress who needs saving. Swara said:
“You think Anarkali is characterless, she sleeps with people, and has multiple partners, fine, she has. So what? What’s the big deal? We are nowhere in our movie saying that she was a ‘bechaari’ (victim) or one who was just like us. We are not apologetic of what Anarkali is or what she does for a living.”
