Arjun Kapoor is known to play different character and always tries to surprise the audience with his acting. The actor in last movie titled Half Girlfriend essayed the role of a character who hails from Bihar and is called Madhav Jha. During the recent interview session he was quoted saying that the director of the movie Mohit Suri was quoted saying that they have tried to break all the preconceived notions about the state of Bihar and its people.
Reel Madhav Jha further elaborated that “Through this film, we have tried to break preconceived notion about Bihar. We always wanted to make sure that people should look at Bihar from real point of view because in many films, we see that gangster, politicians, IAS, IPS hail from Bihar, but we haven’t seen a solo romantic hero who hailed from Bihar in recent times.”
2 States actor had worked a lot on his role and even hired a dialect coach to get into the skin of the character. The actor explained true reason behind doing it and was quoted saying that, “So, it was important that the character I am playing should speak and behave in same way. When we were shooting for the film people kindly supported us and it is always nice to see when people shower their love upon us,”
The movie has been directed by Mohit Suri and is the adaption of author Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name. Also what interesting to note that the acclaimed author has become a producer with the said project.
Another aspect about is that this is the second time that Arjun has worked on which has been based on author Chetan Bhagat movie. The first one being Two States which was loved by critics and cinemagoers alike! Ki & Ka actor had an interesting aspect on the second collaboration between him and the author. He was quoted saying that, “I am happy that after our successful collaboration in ‘Two States’, we are again coming up with this film. It’s always nice when you get good material to work as an actor.”
During the promotional activity Arjun was asked what special preparation went into getting the skin of the character and was quoted saying that, “I am very happy and delighted that it’s a book which is loved by so many people and now we have put it out on big screen for many people. It’s our effort to do justice with the material and create something with our imagination and visualisation,”
The actor further added that he faced tought doing a scene, when asked which one was it, he was quoted saying that, “There is an emotional scene in the film where I had to express myself, so to get the feel of the character, I had two tequila shots on an empty stomach in the morning because I wanted to feel and express that madness”.
