Home Bollywood “It’s very important to know fluent hindi to be in bollywood”, says...
This week releasing at the box office are two movies Half Girlfriend and Hindi Medium. Both the films have one thing in common and that being the language Hindi.
With English shown as having an upper hand in both the movies, we ask a Bollywood celebrity, what is it like to hail from a regional background? Is it possible to survive in Bollywood if one is not fluent in the foreign language?
Sharing his point of view is Suniel Shetty says that it’s not necessary to be fluent in English, but be well versed in acting and know Hindi for communication purposes. He says, “I come from a South Indian household. I speak Tulu at home. I grammatically go wrong in Hindi. But I constantly try to understand grammar and go through my lines very often. A good actor is a good actor the language is never a barrier. Look at Baahubali, it is a Telugu film but it cuts across all barriers and touched everybody’s hearts. Aspiring actors should consider ‘acting’ as a language and be fluent in it.”
The actor spoke with Dailybhaskar.com as he arrived for the launch of Tata Sky’s Acting Adda, an initiative that helps viewers to learn ‘acting’ at home.
