The Bengal Cricket team started their campaign in the invitational KSCA tournament by putting up a mammoth 305 for the loss of just 4 wickets on Day 1 against KSCA Colts. The Bengal captain Sudip Chatterjee himself scored an unbeaten 110, while Purab Joshi made a scintillating 122 as the duo put an exhibition with a partnership of 219 runs for the third wicket.
As expected, skipper and centurion Sudip Chatterjee seemed ecstatic after commencing the season on such a high. ”We have played really well today and tomorrow the team needs to do the same as we have to put more runs on the board tomorrow.” Sudip quoted saying to the media following the first day play.
The 25-year-old, Chatterjee made it pretty clear that he will look to score as many runs as possible before leaving for the India A tour. “This century will give me a lot of confidence for the upcoming matches. I am trying to score as many runs that I get before leaving for the India A tour,” Sudip added.
Sudip Chatterjee is also looking forward to meet the legendary batsman and India A coach Rahul Dravid. On being asked, what tips he would like to take from one of India’s all-time great cricketer, Sudip said “After watching my batting if he gives me any tips I will definitely listen to it.”
The batsman also expressed his gratitude towards VVS Laxman for helping him in improving his batting. “He shared his thoughts with me regarding the wickets of South Africa as you know that there will be a lot of bounce on the pitch and his suggestions means a lot to me,” Sudip concluded.
