Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has become first Indian actor all set to collaborate with Netflix’s first India-set original series “Sacred Games”, which is an adaptation of author Vikram Chandra’s best-selling novel. The show is called, ‘Sacred Games.’ The versatile actor has proved their mantle by giving a powerful performance in movies like Omkara, Love Aaj Kal, and Dil Chahta Hai.
As per sources, Hum Tum actor will essay the role of Sartaj Singh in the series. The series, “Sacred Games will be produced in partnership with Phantom Films and will be available to stream giant’s more than 100 million members in over 190 countries.
The National Award Winner also shared his importance of supporting platforms like ‘NetFlix’ and was quoted saying that, “Content in the digital space is taking over the existing dynamics at a rapid pace – the crown in the digital empire lies with Netflix, and it’s extremely satisfying to partner and participate in the first original series from India to be showcased on Netflix.”
Erick Barmack, the vice president of international original series at Netflix, revealed the reason of collaborating with Saif Ali Khan and was quoted saying that, “Saif Ali Khan is a true pioneer and risk-taker in Indian cinema, and we could not be more delighted to be working with him on Sacred Games.”
He further gave an insight into the role essayed by the actor in the show and added that “His role is layered and complex, and we are thrilled to be working with such a fantastic actor to bring this story to a global audience.”
The series will extensively be shot in India and will talk about the city’s intricate web of organized misconduct, fraud, politics, and surveillance.
