A few days ago a picture of Ranbir Kapoor went viral. The photo featured the Jagga Jasoos actor showing off his muscular biceps.
While many thought that it was Ranbir’s look for the Sanjay Dutt biopic, news is that it is in fact his look in Ayan Mukerji’s Dragon.
Elaborates Kunal, “During Jagga, Ranbir weighed 70 kgs. For the Sanjay Dutt biopic we wanted two different looks of his, the leaner look which would have him weighing 76 kilos and the bulkier look, which has him weighing 86 kgs. When Sanjay (in real life) started off, he was lean. Then during Jung and Kartoos he was muscular, and then turned bulkier during Agneepath thus we need to show this physical transformation in Ranbir to suit the role he plays. Initially, Raju Hirani (director) was worried if Ranbir will be able to do it, but the end results were phenomenal.”
sharing the routine, to get Ranbir bulk up, Kunal says, “To turn 86, he would exercise an hour a day. In this one hour training, we would make him do compound movements and concentrate on one body part each day. And throughout he would consume eight meals. It would get difficult for Ranbir and he would get tired eating so much. We would also wake him up from his sleep at 3 am and make him have the protein shake.”
