Indian Women Cricket Team has started a revolution which will not be extinguished anytime soon. They played like a champion and won the heart of billion by a superb performance in finished Women World Cup. The team was led by a visionary captain Mithali Raj, India started their tournament on a high but lost the final frontier. Though the ladies might have lost the final they surely won billion hearts. Also, tournament marked an end of an ear as this World Cup was probably the last chance for her to win the trophy for Mithali.
The Indian Captain Mithali Raj was born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan on December 3, 1982, to a Tamil family. She made her ODI debut in 1999 against Ireland at Milton Keynes and went on to score an impressive 114 (not out).In a career spanning 18 years has scored 6190 runs in ODIs but one trophy will elude her is of not boasting of a World Cup.
Shah Rukh Khan has started for his upcoming show – Ted Talks India: Nayi Soch and the theme of the show is that inspirational individuals from different ways of life will be invited on the platform to discuss their knowledge and motivate audiences. One of the guests on the show is Indian Women Cricket Captain Mithali Raj. During the show, Mithali Raj confessed that while growing up what difficulty she has to face and was quoted saying that, “My parents had full faith and encouraged me to play the game, my other relatives would often criticize my parents for their decision. It was because of parent’s sacrifices I can continue to play till now.”
The Captain Of Indian Team, Mithali Raj was quite excited to be part Kaun Banega Crorepati and the main reason behind it was getting a chance to meet the legend, Amitabh Bachchan. Other being she is quite excited to impress the show host by answering the question right.
But the Captain of Indian Women Cricket will be joined by her team members such as Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Punam Raut, Veda Krishnamurthy, Jhulan Goswami and Deepti Sharma who will be part of the show. As per sources will get a chance to play the game and the winning amount will be donated to Prayas Institute for Social Development, Hyderabad.
Mithali Raj was dumbstruck meeting legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and was quoted saying that, “Meeting Mr. Bachchan was an astounding experience! Despite knowing that I was going to be spending time with him on the shoot, when I finally found myself standing before him I was awestruck. And anyone would be because he has such a beautiful and magnanimous presence.”
The highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket revealed that she and her team is well aware of their achievement and what difference it has made in Indian cricket. But she also of the opinion that with the rewards follow criticism. She further quoted saying that “For self-growth, criticism is important and we have to remain consistent in our performance(s) Women’s cricket grew in stature, but we lacked in getting a response from the audience and increasing fan following as we didn’t really do well in ICC tournaments. We know that World Cup is the only tournament we can look up (to) because that is the only stage where we can make a difference to the sport of India. We did it by showing our best performance”
