Indian film producer Mukesh Bhatt, the younger brother of Mahesh Bhatt, and also the co-owner of the production company Vishesh Films, set up in 1986. He is the uncle of Pooja Bhatt, Rahul Bhatt, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt and Emraan Hashmi.
In recent interview, he spoke against the sexual harassment. He said, “What can we do? We cannot do any moral policing. We cannot keep moral cops outside every film office to see that no girl is being exploited.”
He further added, “I am not saying men have not been exploitative. They have been for centuries. But today’s woman is also not as simple as she pretends to be,” he said. “But just as there are good men and bad men, so also there are women who are exploitative and very cunning. Also blatantly shameless to offer themselves.”
Bhatt’s first film as producer was Jurm (1990) with Vinod Khanna, however, the film was not very successful. Then he combined with Gulshan Kumar to produce the love story, Aashiqui (1990), starring debutantes Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal. The film was directed by his brother Mahesh Bhatt.
Recently, he produced Love Games. The film stars Patralekha, Gaurav Arora and Tara Alisha Berry in the main cast. It was released on 8 April 2016.
‘Vishesh Films’ completed 30 years and Mukesh Bhatt had then said, “This journey has been extremely overwhelming in all respects. Working alongside my brother for the past 30 years has been nothing short of exhilarating. Mahesh and I decided to build a legacy with Vishesh Films. His directorial skills coupled by my production knowledge helped us build a product that will continue to entertain the audience for all the years to come.”
