According to report, the 34 year old actress will be playing the role of a rapper in the film inspired by the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy from Mumbai’s slums. Ranveer is reportedly gung-ho about Zoya’s film. He is happy to move from an angry character of Allaudin Khilji in Padmaavat to a character who follows his dreams and becomes a star in his own right in Gully Boy. Apparantely, the character that Ranveer plays in is very much like himself — happy, cheerful and quirky. The actor has also undergone mane metaphorsis for the film as well.

Earlier in an interview , Alia Bhatt shared her excitement about his project. She said, “Ranveer is a complete crackpot. I have worked with him in ads, and I think I have an idea about what shooting is going to be like. I’m excited because Gully Boy is an emotional story, and our characters are very interesting, so it will be a unique combination. I have always wanted to work with Zoya (Akhtar), who I think is absolutely fab. This year, I am working with two actors and two directors who I’ve always wanted to work with.” For more updates keep following Circle of Bollywood
