Twinkle Khanna is these a happy producer post her maiden movie production ‘PadMan’ has been minting money at the box office. The movie has been appreciated by the critics and cinemagoers alike. The movie is based of the life of social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur who invented the machine for manufacturing sanitary pads at an affordable price for ladies all across the nation.
The movie is having dream run at the box office and has earned at 62.87 crore. There is good news for the makers and audience as the movie has been declared tax-free in Rajasthan, by Chief minister tax-free in Vasundhara Raje. Twinkle Khanna was quizzed if she ever expected such a positive response from the audience or did she feel the movie would a succeed to break the stereotype in the society mindsets, to which she was quoted saying that “No. I did not expect this. We were worried because it was a risk. “We did not know whether people would take it and at this point of time, both, the commercial and the critical success has been overwhelming.”
The chief minister of Rajasthan revealed the real reason this decision is being taken so that more and more ladies can see the movie and awareness can be create about sanitary napkins. She also announced that sanitary pads machines will be installed in various schools and colleges in the rural areas in the state. The movie is being directed by R Balki which also featured Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles.
