Evergreen actress Sridevi passed away on Saturday night after suffering from cardiac arrest. The news was confirmed by Brother In law Sanjay Kapoor. Sanjay Kapoor confirmed the news and was quoted saying that, “Yes, it is true that Sridevi passed away. I just landed here, I was in Dubai and now I am flying back to Dubai. It happened roughly around 11.00-11.30. I don’t know more details yet.”
If sources are to believe Sridevi was reportedly with her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi at the time of death. The family had travelled to UAE to attend the a family wedding ceremony of Mohit Marwah.
The entire nation is in shock with the news of Sridevi’s death. However, the forensic and autopsy reports that came out yesterday revealed that Sridevi died due to accidental drowning. But some TV news outlets in India cared only about the TRP game as they left no stone unturned in sensationalizing the coverage of the news.
From morphing Sridevi’s picture in a bathtub to running special segments with titles like “maut ka bathtub,” the reportage last night was disgusting, ludicrous and everything in between. No wonder then, #NewsKiMaut became one of the top trends on Twitter.
A huge set of celebrities and people like Vidya Balan, Farhan Akhtar, Sonu Sood among others lashed out at the media outlets for the insensitive coverage.

The only answer to these #Sridevi hideous hashtags on news tv tonight is one of our own : #NewsKiMaut. Forget a bathtub; a drain pipe will do for this gutter level rubbish. Ashamed to be affiliated with this. Relieved to not be on air in this present environment

RIP means REST IN PEACE.
This reportage is anything but that.

Indian envoy to the UAE, Navdeep Suri, also requested the media outlets to be responsible in their reporting.
The media interest in untimely demise of #Sridevi is understandable. But the frenzy of speculation does not help. Imp to note that:
1. We are working with local authorities to ensure that mortal remains can be sent to India at the earliest. We are on the job.
— IndAmbUAE (@navdeepsuri) February 26, 2018
2. We are in regular contact with the family of #Sridevi and other well- wishers. We share their pain.
3. Our experience in similar cases tells us that it does take 2-3 days to complete processes
4. We leave it to the experts to determine cause of demise
Let's be responsible

All we can do is hope that the same media outlets take this as a lesson and do some sensitive reporting on the case. As because of few news channel reporting other news channel new authenticity will be impacted. What do you think? Pls tell us and stay tuned to circle of Bollywood for more updates!!
