Padmaavat has seen its shares of ups and down, initially it had to release on 1 December 2017, Padmavaat release was indefinitely delayed due to numerous controversies. The movie has done good business at the box office and its time for celebration for the Padmaavat Team. The movie has gone to do good business besides facing a threat of movie not being screened in certain states to the chaos created by Karni Sena. The movie was based on a poem with title ‘Padmavati’ from the 16th century by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been a lucky mascot for Deepika Padukone and has gone to make another record as recently released movie Padmaavat has gone on to become e Deepika’s highest grosser by registering collections of 231 crore at the box office in India.
In doing so the movie sur surpassed lifetime collections of Deepika’s previous record breaker Chennai Express. By minting 5.50 cr on its second Wednesday. Padukone’s previous highest grosser was Chennai Express which went on to earn 227.13 cr in Indian markets. The movie is doing good business at the Deepika’s Home state Karnataka rising to be the 3rd Hindi movie after Dangal and PK to mint more than 10 cr in a fortnight.

Deepika Padukone during recent interaction with the media revealed she was honored to play the role of courageous Rani Padmavati and added that “It looks at the power of women. Today again we are standing up for ourselves with dignity… I find her journey so relevant today.”
The actress also revealed that Jauhar sequence was one of the difficult part to shoot as it shows women are shown ready to court death and said the last scene had stayed with her for quite some time. “The jauhar speech was done in one take. I felt I would forget the lines. I did rehearsals for it. It was an intense moment on the sets. Everyone was quiet. They had kept three days for this but we did it in half a day.”
Deepika also added that essaying the role of Rani Padmini in the historical drama was the most difficult role in her career to this date. “This role of a queen had no crutches like she doesn’t have a sword, she doesn’t get on a horse and goes on the battlefield — but there is sheer inner strength and resilience which I had to show through my eyes,”

Padmaavat has become Deepika Padukone 7th film in the 100 cr club and her hattrick in the 200 cr club. The actress will soon begin shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s film ‘Sapna Didi’ with Irrfan Khan.
