Hindi Medium was one of the most loved movies of last year. The story revolved around a couple who want to give their daughter the best education so that she becomes accepted by the elite. The movie featured Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar in the pivotal roles. The story was written by Zeenat Lakhani and helmed by Saket Chaudhary. The movie was loved by the audience and critics alike. The movie was slow to start at the box office emerged as a true Sleeper hit.
As per latest update, the makers of the movie revealed that the movie will have a sequel. The first part featured Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar who play an integral role in the movie. The shooting of the film is all set to start in August and if sources are to believe Sara Ali Khan might be seen essaying the role of Irrfan Khan’s daughter Pia in the sequel. The movie will take a leap of 10 years and will see Sara Ali Khan essaying the role of a 15-year-old in the movie.
Also, we have got to now that Irrfan Khan will be reprising his role of a Delhi based businessman Raj Batra whose sole objective was to fulfill his wife’s dream of getting their daughter admission in an English medium school in the first installment. Also as per latest development, Saba Qamar will not be reprising his role in the second installment of the movie. As per a source close to Mumbai Mirror was quoted saying that “The makers are really keen on Sara who is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh’s former business partner who collaborated with him on films like Being Cyrus, Love Aaj Kal, Agent Vinod, Cocktail, Go Goa Gone and Happy Ending. Her mother, Amrita Singh, has played the principal of the English medium Delhi Grammar School in the original.”
During a recent interaction with the media, the producer of the movie Dinesh Vijan was quoted saying that “I have just finished the script and I am going to get into the casting now.”
The sequel will be once again produced by Dinesh Vijan and T-series CMD Bhushan Kumar. The movie will be a fresh take on the educational system.
