Bollywood Actor Suniel Shetty on many occasion has shared his love for fitness and cricket. Recently actor confessed that he never dreamt of becoming an actor while growing up but instead wanted to represent Indian Cricket Team. Also confessed the actor was mesmerized by the physique of former West Indian cricketer Vivian Richards which led to him taking a passion for bodybuilding. He was quoted saying that “My fitness journey began when I met Sir Vivian Richards. He said he got fit so that he could hit the ball harder. I was an obsessive cricketer and I wanted to play for the country. So, I started building my body. Unfortunately, I was not talented enough to play for the country.”
During a recent interaction with the media, he is happy to see movie industry is showing support for sports and thru the stories inspiring the youth. Suniel also expressed that this is a great sign by makers of the movie who are making movies on sports and sportsmen. He also added that id, I think it should have happened years ago. In a way, it helps us keep the legend alive. I am happy that such films are being made and more importantly, people are watching them. which means there are a market and appreciation for such films. Now that they are making a film on ‘1983, World Cup’, it will encourage a lot of people to participate in sports.”
Suniel Shetty is also quite excited about his son Ahan Shetty who is all set to make his Bollywood debut in a Sajid Nadiadwala film. Suniel had this to say about his, “Very soon, this year maybe. He will start shooting for his film this year and hopefully, it will release also right away.” He also gave his one advice golden advice to his and said that “not much but I told him to be the producer’s actor, to be sincere to his job. to work less, enjoy your life and definitely keep playing sports.”
The actor was last seen in ‘A Gentleman’ in which he essayed the role of a villain. The project was directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez.
