Netflix definitely has big plans for the Indian market. While its first ever Indian web series Sacred Games manages to stay in news for all good reasons, we now have interesting information about another Indian Netflix Original. If trade sources are to be believed, Anil Kapoor will produce a Netflix original show for India. The web series will be based on Aravind Adiga’s 2016 book Selection Day, a tale about cricket and corruption set in contemporary urban India.
In addition, Anil Kapoor reportedly has booked a Netflix series and will star in it. The series will be helmed by The Last King of Scotland director, Kevin MacDonald.
In the last year, Saif Ali Khan has become the first mainstream actor to star in a Netflix show Sacred Games which will be streaming this year. Shah Rukh Khan is producing his web series with Netflix India whereas Karan Johar’s Dharma Production has reportedly locked in a deal with Netflix for a female-centric show.
On the work front, Anil is busy shooting for Salman Khan starrer Race 3. Directed by Remo D’souza, the film will release during Eid 2018. Apart from this, he will also be seen in Fanne Khan, which is reported to clash with Race 3 and he also has a pivotal role in Shelly Chopra’s Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, where he will share the big screen with his real-life daughter, Sonam Kapoor.
