Veteran Bollywood actor Sridevi, who had an illustrious career spanning over four decades died of accidental drowning in bathtub in Dubai. The actor was in Dubai with her family to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding. Her sudden death has shocked Bollywood and her fans. It was a great loss not only for her family but also in the Film Industry. She was an actor par excellence and held her own in each frame.
Now we hear that ‘Simran’ director Hansal Mehta too was planning to approach Sridevi for a movie. When the filmmaker learnt about Sridevi’s death, he had tweeted that he was planning to approach her for a project. “It is a beautiful story, I have got the rights for it. It is from a book, a novella… It is a Chinese story. I felt it would be wonderful to do it with Sridevi. I had thought of narrating the idea to her, but she passed away. It was shocking,” Mehta told to a leading daily.
Mehta says he is determined to go ahead with the film but is yet to find the actor who would now star in the main role. “I will dedicate it to Sridevi,” he adds.
There will never be another #Sridevi. I was about to approach her for a film. That film will now be dedicated to her. If it finds an actor.
