Kangana Ranaut is ready to team up again with her Queen co-star Rajkummar Rao in her next, Mental Hai Kya. The film will go on the floors this month. The film is a psychological thriller and will be directed by Prakash Kovelamudi. Kangana Ranaut’s unabashed and upfront attitude has landed her in controversies several times, and yet the ‘Queen’ actress never ceases the opportunity to be expressive and opinionated.

Kangana talked about the film in an interview with a daily and said, “The way my life unfolded in the past few years, I realised there was so much stigma attached to being different. ‘Mental’ or ‘psycho’ were the terms used to shame me, but these can’t be used casually as swear words. When this script came along, I knew I had to do it to break the stigma around it. High time we made individuality aspirational.”

Kangana also had a personal reason to pick up this film. “The way my life unfolded in the past few years, I realised there was so much stigma attached to being different. ‘Mental’ or ‘psycho’ were the terms used to shame me, but these can’t be used casually as swear words. When this script came along, I knew I had to do it to break the stigma around it. High time we made individuality aspirational,” added Kangana.

Mental Hai Kya is a first collaboration between Kangana, Rajkummar and Ekta, and the actress says they will have their share of creative differences. “We are like-minded people who know it’s not going to be hunky-dory. I am not a sulkpot. That’s how Raj and I have come this far in life. Strong opinions don’t mean either of us is going to act like we know it all,” said the 30-year-old actor.
