These days the Bollywood industry has started giving importance to the sports personality by making a movie on them and also let the world be aware of their struggle. In the last two years, we have seen Movie like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Sachin: A Billion Dreams. The movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag talked about Milkha Singh or the ‘Flying Sikh’ overcomes many suffering difficulties to become a world champion, that too an Olympian and one of India’s most iconic athletes. In recent past, we saw Sachin A Million Dreams which brought out a different aspect of his life and journey from being a naughtiest child to a most loved sportsperson.
Virat Kohli is one of the most aggressive batsmen in the cricket world has come a long way in becoming one of the most loved sports icons in India. In the past, we have seen Bollywood make films based on the lives of cricketers. The Virat Kohli is married to Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and as a result, the fan would love to see a film being made on the life of this super talented cricket player who has won millions of hearts of many with his aggressive batting and calm thinking on the field.
During recent interaction with the media was quizzed about a biopic on his life. Virat Kohli who is known for being very opinionated nature was quoted saying that “I don’t think there will be a biopic made on me. I think it will be just a real account of what my life has been like.”
Post this statement made by Indian Cricket Caption, few people are of the opinion that he might have taken a dig at MS Dhoni’s biopic, which was obviously far from being a ‘real’ account. Even last movie Azhar which was based on the life of Former Indian Cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin’s biopic which featured Emran Hashmi faced a lot of heat by the cinemagoers and movie failed to live upto the expectation of the audience.
During the interaction with media was questioned if a biopic is ever made on his life who would like to essay in the biopic. We were of the opinion that Virat Kohli would have picked a Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor or Varun dhawan, the cricketer went the diplomatic way and was quoted saying that “I don’t know… I mean, there are many talented people out there. But I’m still quite a few years from there, some new talented actor will come along and he might fit the role perfectly. If something like that happens, but that’s far far away.”
It seems we will have to wait for some time to before we get to watch Virat’s real life story on 70mm. We ask our readers who in their opinion would be the perfect choice to play Virat Kohli on screen?
