Whenever there’s an interaction about the most beautiful woman in this world, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the first name which comes to our mind. Bollywood actress Aishawriya Rai Bachchan who is a global icon and once again walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for the 17th time. Like every year, the actress was seen experimenting with her looks and was quoted saying that, “people need to ‘stop judging’ and she takes criticism and praised both. Shringaar (here, dressing up) has been part of who we are. It’s an individual choice and people need to stop judging each other.”

This year was her 17th appearance at the Cannes and stole the show with her stunning appearances. This year was also special as the actress was accompanied by her daughter Aaradhya and the mother-daughter duo really enjoyed time together.

During the recent interaction with the media, Aishwarya gave her opinion that women should not judge each other. She was quoted saying that, We as women need to stop judging each other. If you apply makeup that doesn’t mean you don’t have brains. It doesn’t mean you lack in substance. It does not mean that you are not sensitive or compassionate.”

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress also added that “At the same time, if you choose not to use makeup, it doesn’t mean you are a disinterested person or a person lacking in colour. Or that you are brainy just because you don’t put make up. Or that you are too serious and not a fun-loving person.”

During Cannes Film Festival, we witnessed 82 female celebrities took up the mantle to protest inequality in the film industry. Emma Watson, Cate Blanchett, Ava DuVernay, Kristen Stewart, and Salma Hayek were few of the actress who supported the cause. The recent celebrity who had come in support of actress plea of equal pay has been Benedict Cumberbatch was quoted saying that “boycott projects that do not pay women the same amount as their male co-stars. Equal pay and a place at the table are the central tenets of feminism. If she’s not paid the same as the men, I’m not doing it.”

Sarabjit actress recently gave her opinion on the cause and was quoted saying that, “We witnessed such an incredible moment with 82 women from the cinema together on the red carpet, representing all of us. I wish I was called but that’s the number they wanted in order to represent the comparison between the number of female directors and 1600 male directors whose films are being shown at Cannes. We, as women want, that number to change.”
