Sonam Kapoor recently attended the Cannes Film Festivals for the seventh time and opened about bout pay disparity and how things to need to change now. When a woman is in a position of power, she’s expected to be aggressive, or masculine. But the moment she says she deserves a certain kind of money and treatment at work, she suddenly becomes undesirable. We need to fight that mindset. If a man says that this is what he deserves, he will never be questioned. Women should collectively fight for this issue. I have been trying to do it since the beginning of my career.”
Sonam Kapoor is a fashionista with many awaiting for her to set the stage on fire at the Cannes and was quoted saying that, “Women need to stop exerting that pressure on themselves. I’m enjoying myself and wearing things that I like to wear. I don’t think about what other people think of my dresses which is why I have a good time on the red carpet. I just want to be myself and that’s what young girls identify with. It’s not about my clothes, but the attitude that I carry myself with.”
On the work front, Sonam Kapoor will next be seen Veere Di Wedding, which also features Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar, Sumeet Vyas and new girl Shikha Talsania is out. The movie is all set to release on 1st June.
