The movie is based on the life of Sandeep Singh who is one of the most successful hockey players in the sport of hockey. In the movie, Dosanjh will be seen showing off his sports skills on the field. The movie also features Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi. During a recent interaction with the media was shocked when producers approached him (Diljit Dosanjh) to make a movie on his life.
He added “Actually, in the beginning, it was unbelievable. It was just like how in Haryana and Punjab people come to you and promise to take you overseas. You start daydreaming about spending your days as a permanent resident abroad. I also started dreaming about my film and story. That time only the movie based on Milkha Singh had come out. So, I also used to think that soon there will be a film on Sandeep Singh, people will get to know about me. I felt really good.”
Sandeep Singh was excited to share the story of his life with the world he only had one condition to the producer that whoever this decision to play on the silver screen justify being Sandeep on-screen and preferably someone who is a Sikh. He also informed for the very beginning the makers were considering Diljit Dosanjh and he perfectly fitted the bill.
Sandeep Singh is one of the most successful hockey players who was known for his penalty corner specialist in the Indian Hockey team and earned the title of ‘Flicker Singh.’ He made his international debut in 2004 at Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Kuala Lumpur.
