Janhvi Kapoor Gets Emotional When Questioned How Dhadak Is A Tribute To Her Mother, Sridevi!


Today was a very big day for the Kapoor Family as another member of the family made her debut in Hindi cinema. Yes, you have guessed it right, we are talking about Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film Dhadak trailer was released today. The movie trailer also gave us an insight if Janhvi will be able to carry forward Sridevi’s legacy and this fact will put all the more pressure on her to prove her mettle as an actress.

In the trailer, we got to see the magical chemistry between Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. The movie will be introducing a new generation of Bollywood spilling its charisma on the 70mm screen. The movie is an adaptation of Marathi Marathi superhit Sairat is a remake of the popular Marathi film, Sairat.

The debutant actress family members–her uncle, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, aunt Maheep Kapoor and cousins who were present to support and cheer for her on the most important day of her life. It was Late Sridevi long cherished dreamt o watch her daughter movie. It must be a joyous as well as a sad day for the family as she must be missing her mother the most today. The actress during the media interaction was asked if her debut movie is a dedication to her late mother, Sridevi. This made her very emotional and was quoted saying that, I saw Sairat with mom at home and I remember telling her ‘I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like it.’ I and mom had this big discussion how even she wanted a role like this for me and then you (Karan) called and it happened,”

She further added that“I definitely miss her today and shared a few tips her mom gave her before she started working on the first movie. She said that “To work hard and feel every emotion. I think I have tried to do that.”

She was also quizzed if her character is similar to what Rinku Rajguru played in Sairat and was quoted saying that “I don’t think any other actor can come near what Rinku did with her character of Archie in Sairat. My character, Parthavi, is very different from Archie and I have simply tried to play my character honestly,”

The movie is an adaptation of Marathi superhit Sairat is a remake of the popular Marathi film, Sairat. The movie is being directed by Shashank Khaitan and being produced by Karan Johar, Zee Studio. The movie is all set to release on 20th July.
