Batti Gul Meter Chalu trailer: The movie brings forth the issue of electricity theft by Interlinking it with friendship.

Director Shree Narayan Singh’s last outing Toilet Ek Prem Katha created a lot of awareness and also spread an important message which has started a revolution in our country. The highlighted an important topic which has been plaguing a section of the country, especially in the rural areas and small towns. The movie stresses the importance to develop the sanitation conditions at home, with stress on the reduction of open defecation in public areas, especially in the rural areas of India.

The ace director is back again to entertain the audience with another movie featuring Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam titled ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’. Today the makers of the movie released the trailer for the movie and highlight the issue of electricity theft in the movie.

In the past documentary has been made on the issue but ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is the first feature film which will raise awareness about the problem of electricity theft in India. The movie based on the background in a small town of Uttrakhand, Shree Narayan Singh.

Shahid Kapoor is a happy go lucky character and playing the role of a lawyer in the movie. in the trailer, we get to see Shahid Kapoor is a carefree man but everything changes when his best friend Divyenndu Sharma commits suicide after not able to play a huge amount of Rs 1.5 lakh as his electricity bill. Post which Shahid has only one mission in his to get justice for his friend. In the trailer, we don’t get to see much of screen presence of Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam in the trailer.

During a recent interaction with the media, Batti Gul Meter Chalu director Shree Narayan Singh was quoted saying that,“Batti Gul Meter Chalu is a subject close to my heart. I know the problems the interiors of the country face thanks to the fluctuations of electricity. Sidharth and Garima, who wrote Toilet Ek Prem Katha, have written this also. Bhushanji has been a huge support. Shahid, Shraddha, and the entire cast have been completely involved right from the beginning. We have given it our best. The trailer is out today. I am excited and nervous.”

The movie is being produced by T-Series Films and Krti Pictures, the movie is all set to release on September 21, 2018.
